Workshop Trading Holdings (t/a Workshop Coffee) secures £1M Seed investment Led by James Dickson

One of the pioneers of the UK’s specialty coffee movement, Workshop Coffee, has secured £1m
of funding. Led by the company’s Founder, James Dickson, investment was secured via multiple
new high net worth investors and The FSE Group. This will be primarily used to drive continued
growth in Workshop’s B2B division, as well as to launch a new website and e-commerce platform.

Continuing their unwavering commitment to directly sourcing and roasting coffee of the highest
possible standard, Workshop Coffee have reinforced their premium positioning through recent
B2B wins that include Raffles London, The Langham, 1 Hotel Mayfair, British Library and The
Athenaeum.

This has been supported by the brand’s recent announcement on the appointment of seasoned
hospitality sector thought leader David Read as Chairman, and its recruitment of Andy Phillips –
previously Operations Director of Origin Coffee – as Workshop’s new Chief Executive Officer last
year.

“We are thrilled to have completed this funding round following our successful MBO. Our wholesale division is experiencing an unprecedented level of growth, and we’re very pleased to have welcomed several new 5-star hotels to our client base in recent months. With Andy Phillips appointed as CEO, and David Read as Chairman, we believe we now have the best possible platform to scale the business.”
