Kortext secures £9 million Series A investment from QVentures

QVENTURES INVESTS IN KORTEXT’S £9M SERIES A FUNDING ROUND

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, 24 March 2021 – QVentures is thrilled to announce our investment in Kortext, the UK’s leading B2B2C digital learning platform. QVentures joins the £9 million Series A funding round led by dmg Ventures, and brought investment from several private investors including a Family Office to add strategic value to Kortext.

Kortext’s platform allows discovery and access to over two million key digital textbooks from over 4,000 publishers in one easy to use content and learning platform. The Kortext platform is being used by universities across the world from South Africa to Vietnam, Oman to India.

Due to the pandemic, blended in-person and online learning has become a strategic priority for universities worldwide, but this shift away from face to face teaching has created challenges for libraries, academics and students alike. Kortext provides Higher Education institutions with the tools to continue to reach out to their students as academics are provided with detailed student engagement analytics to enable better student support.

Kortext is championing this rapid global evolution in teaching and learning, as more universities accelerate investment in online and blended learning experiences. Kortext is the market leader in the UK and the Kortext platform is currently being used by over 100 UK universities, including 21 of the 24 Russell Group universities and has recently partnered with the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School to accelerate the adoption of digital learning.

Jeremy Duckworth, CFO of Kortext says,
“QVentures gave us access to a much broader range of capital than we would have been able to draw from without their support. This enabled us to raise more capital, quicker, from an investor base that is able to bring a more diverse source of value. We found the level of service and support they offered to be exemplary allowing us to maintain focus on our business.”

Robert Walsh, Managing Partner at QVentures says, “QVentures has been delighted to support Kortext on their most recent fundraising and we saw great interest across our investor network from Family Offices and sophisticated investors. We have been impressed by Kortext’s rapid growth and their role in equalising the access to education.”
