My Emissions secures £1.3 million Seed investment led by Hambro Perks

The official carbon labelling partner of Just Eat, My Emissions has announced its over-subscribed £1.3m Seed Round. The round was led by Hambro Perks, and supported by Love Ventures, the angel syndicate Raspberry Ventures, and industry angel investors.

The recently announced Forbes 30 under 30 2024 Founders Matthew Isaacs and Nathan Bottomley, established My Emissions in 2021 to decarbonise the food sector, which currently represents 1/3 of global GHG emissions.

My Emissions is a London based tech start-up that addresses the need for food companies to affordably measure emissions of individual products and accurately report their annual scope 3 emissions. The platform reports at an unparalleled speed, primarily through its integrations with existing recipe management, inventory management and POS systems, so food companies can focus on their reduction strategy.

My Emissions’ methodology aligns to the GHG Protocol and was presented to DEFRA’s food data transparency partnership in December 2023 to help set the standard for emissions reporting and eco-labelling in the UK.

My Emissions is the official carbon labelling partner of Just Eat and has run multiple carbon labelling trials on the Just Eat and Just Eat for Business platforms. My Emissions is soon to announce further national and international partnerships in 2024. Other users of the platform include The FSC Group (with whom they carbon label the food-to-go range at Waterstones Cafe), AB World Foods, Selfridges, and the Good Eating Company (part of Sodexo Group).

Forbes 30 under 30 and My Emissions Co-Founder, Matthew Isaacs, explains:

“Food companies are under increasing pressure from customers, investors and regulators to reduce their carbon emissions. This funding and recent Forbes 30 Under 30 recognition, give us the backing we need to expand our team, accelerate our growth, and ultimately give food companies everything they need to reduce emissions and achieve their net-zero targets.

We’re delighted to welcome Hambro Perks and LOVE Ventures as investors, and Laura Noorani as a Board Director.”

Laura Noorani, Principal at Hambro Perks, adds

After conducting a deep dive on the food product emissions sector, My Emissions stood out to us as the dynamic and commercial player in the space. Matt and Nathan understand the specific challenges faced by their customer set and offer a rigorous yet pragmatic solution for food companies to reduce emissions from food at scale.”

Other investors include LOVE Ventures, the angel syndicate Raspberry Ventures, and new and existing angel investors.

With pressure rising from customers, investors and regulators to reduce emissions from the food industry, My Emissions offers a simple and affordable tool that empowers food companies to make informed decisions to reduce their carbon footprint.
