Bronzeformat (t/a Bronze) secures £1 million Pre-Seed investment from investors including Disclosure

January 2024 – Bronze finalises pre-seed round with investors including Disclosure, Arca, Jimmy Napes, DAO Jones, Method Music and September Management, amid a series of key product launches and activations.

Bronze, the London-based audio technology start-up known for their creator-led, AI-assisted music tools, announced they have closed their £1m ($1.3m) pre-seed round with some of the most important thought leaders and artists in the creative industries.

Following recent projects with A24 Films, MoMA & Richie Hawtin, in December Bronze announced their latest project, a collaboration with electronic music duo Disclosure, in partnership with Beatport. Using Bronze’s technology, Disclosure created a model of their recent single ‘Simply Won’t Do’ allowing them to capture 1000 unique versions of the track instantaneously. These are being released exclusively via the Beatport platform in 1000 unique digital editions, each with an accompanying generative artwork.

What differentiates Bronze from many in the space is what they call “training in context”, founder Lex Dromgoole explains

“Many companies are currently training models on unlicensed music – instead, we are developing intuitive and code-free ways for creators to train on their own IP to produce personalised, contextually aware models that are unique to them”

Bronze will be moving to seed in 2024, along with the beta launch of their music creation tool, which already has over a thousand artists on the waiting list.

About Bronze:
Bronze is a range of technologies, centred around a transformational sound format that allows for a piece of music to be easily and widely released as a generative, interactive or personalised experience. Their powerful audio engine is already being licensed by platforms to produce experiences beyond traditional recordings, better suited to new and emerging environments such as gaming, AR, VR and more.

Founded by record producer Lex Dromgoole and songwriter/composer Gwilym Gold, Bronze has also collaborated with XL Recordings, Oscar-winning sound-designer Nicolas Becker and pioneering musicians Arca and Jai Paul.
