Medical Questionnaires (t/a MedQ) secures £146,000 Seed investment from SFC Capital

MedQ, a medtech startup that helps healthcare providers complete patient assessments more efficiently, has announced a £146,000 seed round from SFC Capital investment fund.

The London-based startup works with healthcare providers to transition from paper assessments to remote patient monitoring through a simple digital process. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are a key part of how clinicians manage and evaluate their services and digitising these assessments is a major opportunity for savings and efficiencies for healthcare systems nationwide.

The funding will be used for key hires and additional clinical regulatory requirements.

“With a background in clinical research and care, I have first-hand experience of the frictions that are holding back the entire healthcare sector from achieving greater efficiency,” said Evelina Balt, MedQ founder.

“At MedQ, we are building tools to make completing patient assessments a simple three-step process for any type of healthcare provider. We have a fantastic founding team, user feedback shows we are solving a major problem with significant cost savings, and we are ready to expand.”
