  • Investment led by Nigel Wray and consortium of angel investors including Michelle Kennedy (Founder & CEO, Peanut) and Stephanie Phair (Chief Customer Officer, Farfetch)
  • Funding will help drive expansion into international markets and fuel the brand in establishing itself as the leading marketplace for the very best of beautifully curated objects, homeware and design

London,  March 2022 – Glassette, the newly launched online platform curating homeware from the UK’s best independent brands announces that it has raised £1.2 million in its seed-funding round. Led by Nigel Wray and a consortium of angel investors including Stephanie Phair, Michelle Kennedy, Whitney Hawkings (CEO and Co-Founder, FLOWERBX), Peter Hawkings, Adam Levine (Founder, HERO) and Fred Kooij, the investment shines a spotlight on the increasing consumer appetite to invest in covetable items for their homes.

Co-founded by Broadcaster and Interiors tastemaker Laura Jackson and Daniel Crow (ex-Senior Homeware Buyer at END Clothing), Glassette launched in November 2021 as a digital platform where consumers can discover new, bespoke and beautiful homeware, hand-selected and sourced through the eyes of its founders.

Headquarted in London, Glassette’s seed round funding will enable the company to recruit and build out the core team whilst focusing on growing its global audience by expanding into international markets, with a goal to launch to the US market by Summer 2022.

Glassette’s vision is to be the most forward-thinking and progressive interiors platform in the world – not only showcasing beautiful products but also championing independent brands by offering a global shopfront to editorialise their creativity and artistry.

Since its launch in November 2021, Glassette’s trajectory has gone from strength to strength, amassing over 50,000 followers and now boasting over 150 brands on the platform, including Bias Editions, George Bronwin, David Perry and By Otter to name a few. Each brand is thoughtfully selected, considering longevity, artistry and environmentally conscious materials and design.

Glassette will also continue to build out their brand offer by sourcing bigger, global brands that share their values and ethos, whilst staying true to their discerning design-led curation. The funding will also help Glassette to continue to diversify its offering and evolve to cater the needs of its customers.

March 2022 will see the launch of an Original Art Kiosk in a bid to democratise the original art market for consumers. This comes as the brand sees a gap in the market. Original works once required the customer to reluctantly ask for pricing in a gallery with prices hidden from view, the Original Art Kiosk will offer a safe space to discover beautiful works from talented artists.

Throughout the year, the platform will also reveal new drops of curated products and a series of Glassette Editions: exclusive limited-edition designs created in partnership with brands and available to buy only at Glassette.

Laura Jackson, Co-Founder & Co-CEO at Glassette said: Glassette is all about championing the best homeware brands and makers, giving them the opportunity to sell to an engaged, enthused community. Following the last two years, we have seen an uplift in consumers investing in their homes and so Glassette was born with the vision to aggregate and source the very best, design-led brands and products in one digital seamless shopping solution. This funding reflects confidence in our ability to revolutionise the homeware industry and to make a difference for good as we seek to engage global audiences at scale.”

Daniel Crow, Co-Founder & Co-CEO at Glassette said: “Laura and I are incredibly grateful for the support and belief in our project from our new partners. We have ambitious plans for Glassette over the next few years with international brands and territories firmly in our sights. Our mission is more than just selling products, we want to change the way the world shops for homeware, encourage thoughtful consumerism and champion sustainable values and change in an industry that needs shaking up.”

Nigel Wray, lead investor in the company, said: “We first met Glassette at the UK Investor Show and immediately recognised in Laura & Dan a hugely dynamic, experienced and truly passionate duo, with real skin in the game.

We believed they were the perfect mix, and we are very pleased to join them as long-term investors on their journey to something truly special.”
