Roleshare secures £408k Pre-Seed investment

LONDON – Nov. 18, 2021 Roleshare, a talent marketplace matching professionals to co-apply and share full-time jobs, today announced that it has closed an initial funding round to drive a positive impact toward gender equality, economic growth, and wellbeing.

By using Roleshare’s platform, companies can both retain their top talent and activate a new class of talent. Companies can leverage the platform to enable their employees to share jobs, while also sourcing external fractional candidates.

“This is an amazing milestone,” said Sophie Setareh Smallwood, who is co-founder and co-CEO of Roleshare with Dave Smallwood, “We are so proud and honored to have reached this achievement to invest in our vision to enable anyone to share a job and not have to choose between careers they love and the life they live. We believe Roleshare is the future of work and are happy to be a trailblazer in the industry.”

Roleshare are committed to launch with global multi-sector organizations. Rolesharing positively affects working professionals’ overall well-being. A UK study shows employees who share jobs are 30 percent more productive than those who do not. Rolesharing creates space for employees to find work life balance and alleviate job-related stress. Equally, it can provide companies greater diversity, more utility skills, and  greater business continuity.

The future of work is flexible. According to the World Economic Forum, it is anticipated that by 2027, 50 percent of the workforce will be freelance. An MIT Sloan Management Review/Deloitte survey indicated that nearly 90 percent of managers consider external workers to be part of their workforce. As the global workforce continues to evolve, Roleshare will continue to redefine the way we work.

As a result of COVID-19, many industries took a hit and have yet to recover. The job market became more and more competitive. For many professionals, the level of stress has impacted their work/life balance and mental health. Through Roleshare, employees are able to share their role and responsibilities with another qualified professional, allowing room for diversity and sustainability, while minimizing job burnout and expanding the talent pool.

At the height of the pandemic in the U.S., the unemployment rate more than tripled from three to 13 percent. The International Labour Organization also predicts that the COVID crisis could push global unemployment over the 200 million mark in 2022.
