Thrillz closes $14 million Seed Investment Round

London, UK

Thrillz is transforming the creator economy and has raised $1.8 million to scale its rapidly growing marketplace enabling creators and celebrities to commercialise via fan engagement, corporate partnerships and exclusive content.

The high profile investor base includes WatchMojo Founder & CEO Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, A-list celebrities, family offices and strategic partners in addition to leading executives from the private equity and venture capital industry.

Karbasfrooshan, the CEO of the Canadian media conglomerate WatchMojo, that recently passed 100 billion minutes of watch time said

“Thrillz is operating in a market that is exploding and the traction the team has achieved in a short period of time is incredible. When I started WatchMojo fifteen years ago, entrepreneurs were a rare breed; today so many young professionals want to pursue this path… and Anjan stood out as a remarkably bright, driven and capable young individual so I felt compelled to be a part of the journey and share lessons in our successes and failures to help Thrillz become an influential global brand.”

Thrillz debuted in 2020 allowing celebrities and creators to sell customised fan video messages, quickly expanding with the addition of live digital experiences, corporate bookings and entering North American European markets as demand exploded.

Since launching, the company has grown at over 100% per month and is valued at $14 million. The London based platform has attracted thousands of customers and celebrities including Kerry Katona, Katie Price, Paul Chuckle, Hollywood royalty Tara Reid, England Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson and Grammy Award winning RnB queen, Mya.

“We started with the UK and it became clear that there was huge demand from international celebrities and creators seeking to partner with a business that puts them first,” said Founder and CEO Anjan Luthra. “Our users love Thrillz so much that many asked to invest and we were honoured to bring them on board as our equity partners.”

Thrillz allows creators to monetise in several ways and the economics are set by each creator with guidance from the personal account manager the company assigns to each creator. Price tags range from a few pounds for a custom video message to tens of thousands for commercial endorsements.

The growth was accelerated by forming exclusive partnerships with leading talent agencies across the globe – enabling rapid scaling of its creator and celebrity book including the cast of smash hit Netflix shows Selling Sunset and Million Dollar Beach House.

Thrillz was Founded by British Indian, Anjan Luthra, a retired international sportsman and private equity investor. Anjan will use the capital to expand his London and Los Angeles based team in addition to new business lines.

“Demand for Thrillz has never been greater and we are excited about our international growth plans and expanding our product offering. We are the most professional and ethical player in the space and our stakeholders love doing business with us. I am delighted to welcome our new investors and partners to the Thrillz family.”
